It’s been quite a while since my last post, almost a year now. Like anything else I got busy, lazy, tired and did not make time for writing even though I had tons of time after work.
This year’s travel has already been very busy. With trips to Dallas, Phoenix, Sacramento, Charlotte and just this past weekend Napa Valley. Lot’s of planes, ride shares and hotels. This week alone was Charlotte and Napa so let’s get into Charlotte for a few paragraphs.
Charlotte was more like Waverly area, which was pretty cool. We ate at Via Roma, although in a shopping center it was a great experience. From the crusty bread, to the carpaccio, to the 14 oz bone in Veal chop(I don’t want to hear it) I ordered everything was amazing. The service, the wine, the espresso to end things were all first class. I highly recommend the experience. We ate at a few other places but I am not here to bash as all businesses deserve a fair shake so I will not comment.
Before heading to the airport we stopped at the Olde Mecklenberg Brewery. This place served old style German beers with food to match. We had smoked trout dip, a sampling of sausages, buffalo cauliflower dip and of course a pretzel with Cooper beer cheese. I think I could put the beer cheese in my coffee it was so good. As for the beer I had a couple of their Dunkels, great clean dark beer without being heavy. What was more impressive about the place were the grounds. I would have loved to be there for an event or even their version of Oktoberfest.
Left for the airport after lunch and back to San Diego, the next day I was off to Napa via Sacramento. Will post of my adventures in Napa soon…..
Peace
