Let’s be honest giving Arenado $35 mill a year seems utterly insane, but heck it needs to go somewhere right? If he does not get it, the owners either keep it and than put a less than stellar product on the field. The Rockies also extended Bud Black for a few more years because unlike my beloved Padres they realize he can manage. Yes he had one year where the Padres lost 10 in a row, then needed to win the last game of the season against the Giants to force a one game playoff. Well, they lost that game and the Giants went on to win the WS. Still Buddy is the man and should be rewarded, oh there is also the year Holiday did not touch home plate.

One of my great pleasures in life is coconut chocolate bars, especially the ones from Coconut Patties, Classic Orignal. They are so good. Right now it is 4:00 PST and I am enjoying one with a cup of fresh brewed El Mundo coffee from Zumbar. Zumbar is based in a weird strip mall in Sorrento Valley near the train station. For some strange reason the beans I buy there and brew in my Meile taste better than when you buy a cup of coffee at the shop, either way the coffee is great. Paired with a coconut chocolate bar and you have a winner.

Harper still has not signed and I wish the Nationals would tell him to take a hike. Would I love the Padres to sign him along with Machado, heck yeah! However it feels like he is holding the Nats hostage, he should just tell them I am not signing with you. Can’t believe he is entertaining Philly though, as that is one tough environment to play in, although with their little league field he would hit many HRs a season.

So cool to get a post in today, whether it is read or not is not the goal. Just feels good to write!
