Post Valentine’s Day Thermidor, Del Dotto Vino, and one Marlboro Light and Lefty par.

Lefty hits a shot in the bunker on his second, then on his third puts it into another bunker. It’s a par 4, I would do my best to stave off the all too often snowman 8. What does Lefty do, he puts his 4th shot from the bunker into the cup and then counts his strokes for par. Love his confidence!

So anyway, I made the lobster thermidor from http://tinyurl.com/y4e8phm7 A simple recipe that turned out really good. Rich, creamy, flavorful and a wonderful presentation. Kim loved it and our temporary room mate Robert enjoyed it as well. Robert picked up some Korean BBQ short ribs from Costco that were surprisingly good. Put them on the grill for a few minutes and they were ready to go. Roasted cauliflower and some homemade mac and cheese and we were full and possibly a case of the gout to follow.

Washed all that down with a couple bottles of Del Dotto Sangiovese . If you have never been to Del Dotto in Napa give it a try. The tasting is 75 bones a person, which is high, but the wine is great and the winery is beautiful. I always thought that Del Dotto was snotty and stuffy, it was not. Furthermore, at the end of the tasting they hook you up with a couple of wood fire pizzas for the group and some cheeses and meats. Pretty cool. Although, I did not care for the Sangiovese, they have other varietals that are amazing.

Then came the part of the night that has made me feel not so well today. I just had to have a Marlboro Light with my wine. I rarely smoke, but after watching multiple episodes of Narcos for some reason it was calling my name. It was glorious while smoking it, then it was not so bueno. Oh well, I am sure it will not be the last smoke I have but the last one for awhile.

AJ Preller flew to Miami to meet with Machado. Machado seems to not like the west coast, tends to not hustle, or be accountable. I guess that is all worth about 30 mill a year.
